There's a lot to be said for sunny days that don't really feel like February, for red fingernails and for red purses. There's a lot to be said for mothers' speeches and musical tributes and getting to spend all day chatting, and then really talking, to people you truly admire, people who are successful in so many different ways. There's a lot to be said for catching your best friend's eye in the middle of it all and knowing that she knows you're there. There's a lot to be said for cookies and milk, for homemade Oreos and cold, cold milk in glass bottles. There's a lot to be said for catching bouquets and bubbles and feet that can't really take any more.
There's also a lot to be said for old and dear ones. There's a lot to be said for a friend who practically chauffeured you through high school life in her silver VW bug, and for a friend who handmakes holiday cards and sends you valentines in the mail. There's a lot to be said for a friend who has golden insides--who has just been the brightest part of life.
Congrats, Amy and Dane! You really deserve it all.
